Bio
Alex Fotinos is an associate in RAR's Construction and Infrastructure Litigation Group.
Alex acts for general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in matters involving adjudication, liens, payment claims, breach of trust claims, building deficiencies, and change order disputes. He has appeared before the Divisional Court of Ontario and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He also advises on contract drafting, negotiations, RFP review processes, and front-end project risk management.
Before joining RAR, he worked in-house at one of Canada’s largest general contracting companies and brings that operational perspective to every file. His in-house experience includes contract negotiations on major public infrastructure projects, construction mediations, corporate acquisitions, and bespoke contract drafting.
Clients can expect practical, direct advice from a lawyer who understands how legal decisions affect construction budgets, schedules, and business relationships. Alex communicates complex issues in plain terms and focuses on practical outcomes that support the client’s business objectives.
Alex speaks and writes regularly on developments affecting the construction industry, including amendments to the Ontario Construction Act, adjudication, notice provisions, collaborative contracting models, CCDC contract updates, and the Buy Ontario Act.
